BIBLE IN CONTEXT
The Bible was in written in a specific time & place…not our time/not our place. Bradley emphasizes relevant and contextual faith. Sometimes this gets messy – that’s what makes theology fun!
SIMPLE & EFFECTIVE
When done right, simplicity is effective and inspiring. Don’t confuse simple with basic. Bradley helps others dig into the depths to discover the core.
FAITH IN COMMUNITY
When you remove community from faith, you obscure the call of Jesus and the revolutionary journey of Abraham. Inspire your group to action and engagement that makes waves in your community!

THE WONDER YEARS
It’s hard to deny many of the positives of growing up in a Christian school, but I certainly lived in a bubble. When one’s school is connected to their church, your sense of the world is limited by a very small group of influencers.
God even, or at least your concept of God, has boundaries that go unexplored in a homogenous environment.
So I am forever thankful but also constantly recovering from this experience.
Without some great encouragement from a forward thinking youth minister, I would have ended up following a life of faith with little exploration.
This encouragement led me straight to Pepperdine – the beach certainly wasn’t a factor – where I studied Religion & Speech Communication
What else would a good Christian boy from Texas do with his life?
Fortunately, I found some incredible guidance and mentors along the way that eventually restored meaning and purpose to my consumeristic, suburban faith.
CHURCH OR ACADEMY
WHY IS THIS A QUESTION??
The real world of ministry was less engaging than shedding years of skin-deep theology, so I continued my coursework and let go of the church stuff. Actually it didn’t seem that ministry could be a place that welcomed exploration or challenged anyone.
Regrettably, it took time for the prophetic tradition to sink in to the core of my practice and theology. The world of the prophets and Jesus in line will eventually bring me full circle to ministry as a place to discover and demand that alternative voice.
People Like Us
I returned to ministry, because I knew there were many just like me…who saw the world disconnected from the church. I’ve walked the alternative path back, and want to help others do the same.
Exploring Community Development
We moved to New Orleans to join the community in rebuilding…people – with no ulterior motives. Part of our work at Open Door is finding the place where these two worlds can collide.
My Current Work
Creating a space where we can journey together in exploration of God…from different perspectives & places, and even with different conclusions. This is what community looks like to me.
